About TipTop Country Store
TipTop Country Store: a general store for the 21st century

TipTop opened in 2004 as a store-front for the Quaboag Co-op which began in the 1970s by a group of people connected with Old Sturbridge Village. Since it's beginnings, TipTop has been about offering an alternative to the usual commercial grocery store. We subscribe to the triple bottom line and we emphasize planet and people above profit. We listen to our customers because we consider them more partners in our journey toward a sustainable future. Our product line evolves as we strive to meet the challenges of climate change and economic disruption.

We make your dollars work for good.
TipTop makes sure your dollars are not going to support the giant corporations that have no concern for anything but their profits. We look for brands that agree with our triple bottom line philosophy and support the principles of B Corps and the Organic Consumers Association. We avoid products with GMOs, artificial colors or preservatives, and harmful chemicals. We are very aware that consumer dollars are one of the most powerful ways to support sustainability.

We support Fair-Trade.
By choosing fair-trade products, we help improve the lives of everyone along the supply chain, from workers and their families, all the way to when the product reaches the store shelf. Often described as "capitalism with a conscience", fair-trade focuses in particular on products which are exported from developing countries to developed countries. For example, handicrafts, coffee, cocoa, sugar, fruit, and chocolate are all fair-trade items that TipTop offers.

We encourage your partnership.
If you have an idea or product that you would like TipTop to try, we encourage you to talk to us. You can also sign up at the store for our loyalty program which will give you 2% back on most purchases and will put you on our mailing list to get our occasional newsletter and announcements about special events. There are no fees or minimums and we won't sell or use your info for any other purpose. Promise!
